How My Journey Began

I started gaining weight around 8 years old. I never perceived myself as fat even when others told me I was fat or made fun of me. It wasn't until I turned 30 that my weight began to be an issue for me. So, I decided to do something about it.
I began my journey in January 2017. I started at 280 lbs. I changed my eating habits along with reading Made to Crave by Lysa TerKeurst and began piyo with a friend. After a few months I weighed 265 (-15 lbs). I then became pregnant and could not continue piyo due to lack of balance. I had to put my journey on hold until I was ready to pick it back up.

I decided I was ready to start again a few months after my son turned one. So in April 2019 my friend and I began going to Planet Fitness and I started modifying my eating habits again. The first weekend I did the master cleanse for two days along with eating a bagel and cream cheese each meal. I did this to help my body get use to eating less but I also was unable to go the day without eating at all. The following week I decided not to consume several items I did not want to consume any products with flour, eat as fresh as possible and consume 12 ounces of protein per day.

Here is an example of what I ate on a daily basis:

Breakfast:
1 cup of fruit (typically grapes, blueberries, strawberries or a mix of the three)
1 cup of vegetables (raw carrots, raw cucumber, and raw celery)
1 cup of Plain Keifer (Wallaby brand)

Lunch/Dinner:
Rotated between

6 oz of chicken on top of a salad
or
6 oz of chicken mixed with
one can Black Beans
one can Corn
dried Basil
fresh or dried Cilantro
Garlic Powder
2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Lemon juice

My goal was one week. Once I got past one week I did it for another week. I was able to keep up eating this way for 1.5 months I also recorded my food and water in the S Health app after each meal. At this point I eat whatever I want I just eat it in smaller quantities and I pay closer attention to how many unhealthy choices I am making. I have set a calorie goal for myself of 1600 calories a day.

The amount of calories per day you should consume to lose weight is different per person. I used the S Health app on my phone to calculate the calories per day I should consume to lose weight.
